Merritt Group Honored Among “Top ‘Dogs”

I just love this latest award that Merritt Group has been recognized for.  It’s from Bulldog Reporter, one of the most respected and influential newsletters that has become the Bible for working with journalists and top media organizations.

Or maybe it’s just that I like the word “Bulldog” in Bulldog Reporter.  Because that is what great PR is really all about, being a real bulldog, getting in there and thinking like a journalist, doing the research, getting into the “media zone” as we like to call it, and doing great media relations work.  At Merritt Group, we celebrate each month our staff members who do great media work, and it’s a badge of honor, just like getting a Bronze Award for being on one of the Best Boutique PR Agencies for 2009 from a prestigious organization like Bulldog Reporter.

While the tools of the trade have changed somewhat with the advent of social and digital media, the objectives for our clients remain the same: driving awareness for their innovations and taking great technologies and ideas and making them a reality in today’s marketplace.  It takes a solid strategy but, just as importantly, great execution with sound fundamental media relations.  And it’s so neat to see that our firm is being recognized as one of the best in the business from an organization that is a leader in media intelligence.

Our clients are some of the leading innovative companies in the industry.  And being able to be front and center with them is one of the best jobs in the world.   They are changing our society, and we are excited to be a part of it.   And working with the media is huge part of it.  I call it “the thrill of the hunt” -- the ability to really get in there and make things happen.  And our clients turn to us every day for advice on how to navigate an ever changing media landscape, from traditional media to bloggers to awareness campaigns through social media, and our job is to help our clients reach their customers, and influence and have dialogues with them that makes a meaningful difference.

We are entering some of the most exciting times in our industry.  And what an honor to be recognized by Bulldog Reporter as a firm that I know will continue to play an important role in helping to make it even more exciting.
